A crook planning to sell a streetwise Bosnian orphan in a black market adoption ring has second thoughts as he gets to know the child while trying to get him out of the country.

The film starts in the Belgrade army hospital where casualties of Bosnian civil war are treated. In the hospital they remember their youth and the war.
