Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for film buffs to host public film screenings in the library. Duties will include starting and stopping films in the library’s Media Auditorium and Ashton Auditorium, troubleshooting minor A/V issues, and assisting library patrons before, during, and after film screenings. Basic knowledge of DVD and Blu-ray players, video projectors, and audio systems preferred.

Volunteers serve an important role in the Orem Public Library’s mission to “inspire lifelong learning, create enriching opportunities, and strengthen our communities.”
Perks for volunteering include: Free film checkouts from the Orem Public Library’s extensive film collection, fees on late items are waived, access to VIP library programming, and receive library swag.
The schedule for volunteering is flexible and will require about 4-10 hours a month as needed.

Future Volunteer Opportunities
Responsibilities: Docents will cover the Orem Library Hall Gallery information booth, give tours of Library Hall, assist with hanging and taking down art exhibitions, and making title cards and other gallery information. Must have a love of art and museums, and a willingness to share that love with community members.
Responsibilities: A/V Assistants will help library A/V technicians run audio and video for library and City of Orem events in the Orem Library Hall, as well as other city facilities such as the Stage at City Center Park. Events include library programs, City of Orem events, meetings, and trainings, Orem’s summer concert series, as well as rental use of Orem Library Hall. Some knowledge of basic A/V practices preferred, as well as an interest in event production, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for volunteers to help mend books, remove weeded items, and assist with the library's quarterly book sale.
Responsibilities: Event Host Assistants will work with library staff to set up, host, and take down events. Host Assistants will greet attendees, assist performers, act as ushers, handout programs, and help with other duties as assigned to help library programs run smoothly.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for volunteers to host its monthly game meetups and clubs. Game masters/DMs will set up before meetups, set up and put away boards and pieces, as well as help any attendees learn how to play or improve their game. General knowledge of RPGs and other games is preferred.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for makers, artists, crafters, and other creatives to assist patrons in the library’s Makerspace. The Makerspace gives public access to creative tools such as 3D printers, video, photography, and audio recording equipment, creative software, sewing machines, and much more. General skills in one or more of these areas is required, as well as a willingness to learn and share with library patrons.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for volunteers to assist with the Parent Education Resource Collection. PERC is a special library collection of games, puzzles, toys, and other educational resources for children and families. PERC volunteers assist library patrons and answer questions.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for teens to assist with planning and preparing teen programs. Council members will be responsible for decorating and maintaining the Teen Zone, writing recommendations about library items for teen patrons, and assisting with other library programs and events.

Responsibilities: Are you a library lover? Do you enjoy spending time perusing the Orem Public Library’s vast collection? The library is looking for detail-oriented readers to help keep our shelves orderly, and our items properly organized. Shelf readers will scan the stacks, looking for lost items, putting misplaced titles into order, and generally keeping chaos at bay.
Responsibilities: The Orem Public Library is looking for crew members to help produce library, City of Orem, and community events in the Orem Library Hall. Events include concerts, theater, author readings, City of Orem events, meetings, and performances. Some knowledge of basic stage and theater practices preferred, as well as an interest in event production, and a willingness to learn.
